Under 13 Red 23/4

Hey guys, it's Brent here from the Division Three under 13 breakers team. We played mountain creek today, pretty windy conditions. We were the first game for today and it was 9 - 10 - 60 for mountain creek to breakers 3 – 0 – 18.  

Mountain Creek got off to a it of a flyer in the first half. The Third quarter we had the wind and we kicked all three goals, the team was absolutely pumped, was all about encouragement, they all high fives each other, I even told the back pocket to go up and high five the person who kicked the goal or helped kick the ball which looked fantastic.

I think everyone loved that kind of side of things. It was a very, very good team effort from everyone. There probably wasn’t any really huge standouts. If I had to pick any at all, I would say Oscar was fantastic. Just really clean with the ball, seemed to have lots of space and created lots for himself, which was good.

We had Ethan who played in the backline. And in that second quarter, he probably stopped five goals. So he did really well and then he went on ball and got a few possessions there and help set us up and he was one of our goal scorers. Liam was also a goal scorer and I don't think I've ever seen Liam kick a goal before or you didn't kick one last year anyway, I don't think so. He he kicked the goal and they were our three award winners.

So it was Oscar, Ethan and Liam. Our goal scorers for the day we're Ethan, Liam and Gus and Bonnie scored packet a footy cards from mountain creek which was pretty nice that they did that Bonnie would have probably got one of the awards today except when she got the footy cards with that I'm not going to double her up with awards.

With the awards this year and our team, basically everyone in the team will get an award at one stage it might be they might get one good goal, they might take a fantastic mark or stop a goal or whatever. I'm just not going to give it to the same kids every week. So I'm going to share the wards around and make the kids feel good.
